A special team of ELUCO bakers are again hard at work making delicious, mouthwatering cinnamon buns! Orders will be taken at the Coffee & Chocolate table in Proudfoot Hall during Coffee & Conversation for delivery on Palm Sunday or possibly before. Cost is $6.00 per dozen. Enjoy a sweet treat and help support programs for low income families in east London!

Over the next few Sundays leading up to Easter, we are having a Food Drive for Daily Bread, which has been experiencing an ever-increasing number of clients. Please bring in your non-perishable items and place them in the white baskets located near the rear of the sanctuary, in the atrium and outside the chapel.

The second annual fund-raiser for the St. Paul's Dail Bread will be held on Monday, April 19. The cost, which include a simple meal prepared by the London Club is $75. You will receive a $55 tax receipt. Watch for posters and more information

If yo have old electronics that you no longer want/need, the first thing to do is re-purpose them through one of the charities. But if those electronics no longer work, there are depots around the city that will take them. Staples is one of them. They will take tvs, vcrs, computers, monitors. I was not told there was a cost but I was not able to find a detailed outline of their program. You might want to call first to ensure they accept your item.

For this week's Carbon Fast, consider turning down your thermostat one degree, especially at night when you are not likely to notice it.

What size are you? Have you ever tried calculating your carbon footprint? This is a calculation of how much greenhouse gas emissions you create on an annual basis.

The City of London has launched a new page on their website called "Rethink Energy." Take the 1 minute calulator to see how changing your habits can reduce the size of your carbon fooprint. They also have a kid-friendly section.

Carabon Fast--Week 5: Shopping

Two things to consider when shopping are, Do Need it? Can I support local business with my purchses?

Consider supporting the Farmers' Market at the Western Fair (now open Thurs. and Sat. from 8 am to 3 pm. You can buy meat wrapped in paper (insead of styrofoam) in the exact quantity that you need, fish that is not processed in China, plus organic produce and a variety of locally manufactured. food.

Rememer, you are what you eat and the sometimes higher price of local food comes with the benefit of fewer chemicals and the knowledge that you are helping to preserve food security by supporting local farmers and reducing the distancer food is transported.

We all know that to conserve electricity at home, it is a good practice to turn out the lights when we leave a room. This is also a good rule here at FSA. If you are the last one out of any of the rooms, remember to turn out the lights and close the door (a fire-safety precaution).

Are you hosting an event in Proudfoot Hall but are intimidated by that fancy dishwasher? Have no fear. it is easy to use, and thee are lots of people eager to teach others how to use it. let's enjoy the china and cutlery we have in the kitchen. Paper plates may be biodegradable, but when they are packed in a plastic garbage bag and thrown in a landfill, they don't decompose. Just pop into the kitchen during coffee and conversation and we will show you how!

Leaves on the Proudfoot Legancy Tree in our atriuim are but the beginning of many more still to be dedicated and attached. They signify the generosity of those who so valued the ministry of FSA that they remembered this great congregation in their wills. Their foresight, generosity and faith will help keep FSA green and growing for future generations.

The Trustees encourage you to remember FSA in your will. For more information speak to Ted or David.
