FAQ: How can I . . . arrange for a funeral
Our staff team will work with you to create a service and celebration of the person whose life you are honouring
The sanctuary is ideal for small or large gatherings, holding up to 600 people. Our glass atrium entrance makes a large welcoming area before and after the service. The elevator provides access to multiple levels. The chapel provides an intimate setting for a small service of 50 or fewer, or for visitation.
Receptions can be held in our bright Proudfoot Hall, which accommodates approximately 250 people. Arrangements should be made with a caterer of your choice for food and service. We are able to provide the names of several caterers who know our facilities, if you wish a referral.
We welcome your floral tributes, which will be placed at the front of the church. You may wish to designate some flowers to stay in the sanctuary for the following Sunday, where they will be displayed in memory of your loved one.
Photos or mementos may be displayed at the front of the church during the service. You may wish to gather photos and display them for the reception as well.
A minimum of two greeters is recommended to welcome guests and direct them to the sanctuary. If you have engaged a funeral home, this service is likely provided. If not, you will want to designate between 2 and 4 people to welcome guests on your behalf.
You may wish to have a guest book for signatures. It can be purchased through the funeral home or from a book store.
On-site parking is limited. There is street parking available. The meters on Waterloo Street can be reserved for funerals if you request and will then be marked with blue "funeral" covers.
